Court of Protection Solicitor – Private Client Team

About the role

We are a top‑tier law firm in Manchester City Centre seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor to join our specialist Private Client team. You will manage a varied caseload of deputyship matters and support vulnerable clients with capacity‑related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of Court of Protection deputyship matters.
• Preparing and progressing applications to the Court of Protection.
• Acting for professional and lay deputies.
• Advising clients, attorneys, deputies and family members on capacity‑related matters.
• Managing clients' financial affairs, including property, investments and statutory reporting.
• Preparing annual reports for the Office of the Public Guardian.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
• Experience handling Court of Protection matters, preferably within a specialist Court of Protection or Private Client team.
• Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Court of Protection procedures.
• Excellent communication and client‑care skills with a compassionate, professional approach.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex cases.
