Customer Service & Operations Specialist – European Road Freight

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Customer Service & Operations Specialist to join a leading international freight forwarding and logistics provider at its Manchester hub. You will be the primary point of contact for high‑value client accounts, managing European road freight shipments from quotation through to final delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day operations for key road freight client accounts, acting as the main operational contact.
• Produce competitive quotes, oversee daily shipment flows and resolve operational queries.
• Build strong relationships with client teams to understand their supply‑chain needs and delivery deadlines.
• Provide proactive communication, timely transit updates and tailored service solutions.
• Enter accurate shipment details into internal transport management systems following SOPs.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a high‑performing team, taking full ownership of your workload.

Required profile

• Ambitious and motivated to grow a career in international freight and logistics.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑touch customer service or account‑management environment.
• Familiarity with European road freight (FTL, LTL, groupage, customs) is a plus but not mandatory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
