Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

This remote contract position focuses on protecting applications, networks and information systems from cyber threats. The specialist will design and implement security measures, identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks and respond to incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls for applications, networks and systems.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across diverse platforms.
• Conduct security assessments and risk analyses.
• Monitor emerging threats and stay updated on industry developments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure comprehensive protection.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in application security and secure coding practices.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and network security principles.
• Familiarity with information security best practices and frameworks.
• Experience identifying and mitigating cyber threats across varied systems.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
