Data Architect

About the role

Wesleyan is seeking a senior Data Architect to join its fast‑paced data architecture team in Birmingham. Working in a hybrid model, you will lead the design and delivery of robust, cloud‑based data platforms that underpin reporting, analytics and customer insight across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Data Engineering, Governance and Quality teams to ensure trusted, well‑governed data for decision‑making.
• Design and implement scalable data architecture, modelling and master data solutions that create a single reliable foundation.
• Enable seamless data flow across systems using modern integration approaches.
• Drive the development of cloud‑based data platforms, including data lakes, hubs and operational data stores.
• Provide data architecture leadership on complex change initiatives, influencing stakeholders and delivering high‑quality solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience collaborating with Data Engineering, Architecture and Technology teams.
• Strong background in data architecture, data modelling, data mapping and master data management.
• Demonstrated ability to design scalable solutions that support reporting, analytics and future business growth.
• Extensive experience building and enhancing enterprise data platforms such as data lakes, data hubs and operational data stores.

• Competitive salary up to £72,000 per year.
• Hybrid working – typically two days per week in the Birmingham office.
