Director of Investment Management

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UK wealth management firm that provides bespoke investment management and financial planning services to high‑net‑worth individuals, families, charities and institutional clients. The business is expanding and seeks an experienced Investment Director to grow assets under management and develop new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Building and developing relationships with new and existing high‑net‑worth clients.
• Managing bespoke investment portfolios in line with clients’ objectives, risk appetite and tax considerations.
• Leading client meetings and delivering tailored investment advice.
• Driving new business through referrals, networking and professional introducers.
• Collaborating with Financial Planning colleagues to deliver an exceptional client experience.
• Reviewing portfolios and implementing investment changes where appropriate.
• Contributing to the growth strategy of the Birmingham office.
• Mentoring and supporting junior investment professionals.

Required profile

• A Level 6 qualification and a current Statement of Professional Standing (SPS).
• Significant experience in discretionary investment management.
• Proven track record of winning and retaining high‑value clients.
• Proactive business development mindset with success generating new assets under management.
• Experience managing substantial investment portfolios.
• Experience working with high‑net‑worth individuals; institutional or charity experience advantageous.
• Experience developing and delivering against business plans.
• Outstanding relationship, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Collaborative approach and desire to contribute to a high‑performing team.
