Employment Law Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Employment Law Solicitor to join a busy, award‑winning HR & Employment Law practice. You will manage tribunal claims from initial response through to advocacy, supporting clients throughout the litigation process.

Key responsibilities

• Review tribunal claims and draft comprehensive responses.
• Handle document disclosure, prepare trial bundles and format documents for hearings.
• Provide detailed merits and risk assessments to clients.
• Negotiate conciliation or settlement agreements on behalf of clients.
• Maintain regular communication with tribunals, claimants' representatives and clients.
• Conduct preliminary advocacy by telephone, digitally or in person.
• Identify and assist witnesses, drafting and finalising witness statements.
• Supervise trainees and junior team members as required.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with recent employment law litigation experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver high‑quality client service.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage a caseload in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Experience drafting tribunal responses and legal documents.
• Knowledge of Employment Tribunal procedures and case management.
• Proficiency in conducting settlement negotiations and preliminary advocacy.
