Employment & Pensions Solicitor (Associate)

About the role

AJ Chambers are working with a growing law firm in Central London and are recruiting an Employment & Pensions Associate to join their team. The role involves managing a caseload of employment and pensions matters for corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day running of a caseload, advising on misconduct, sickness absence, grievances and TUPE matters.
• Conduct Employment Tribunal litigation up to the hearing stage.
• Prepare, negotiate and advise on Settlement Agreements for employers and employees.
• Provide advice on restructures and undertake due‑diligence projects with a people aspect.
• Deliver training presentations to clients on employment‑related topics.
• Support partners on complex matters and interact directly with clients to manage expectations.
• Achieve time‑recording and billing targets while meeting deadlines across multiple cases.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years’ post‑qualification experience as an Employment Lawyer, admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales.
• CILEx lawyers must hold Civil Litigation Practice Rights.
• Strong academic background with at least a 2.1 degree.
• Sound knowledge of employment law and ability to prioritize workload.
• Commercial awareness, proactivity and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
