English Lecturer – GCSE English (Full‑time Temp)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic English Lecturer to deliver GCSE English lessons to a diverse cohort of learners in North London. The role is full‑time on a temporary basis, starting in September.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging GCSE English lessons in line with the curriculum.
• Develop schemes of work, learning resources and assessment materials.
• Support learners with EHCPs and additional learning needs using adaptive teaching strategies.
• Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and contribute to learner achievement.
• Participate in internal quality assurance and collaborate with the English department.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification and experience teaching GCSE English.
• Ability to work with a diverse student body, including those with special educational needs.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).

Required skills

• Lesson planning and curriculum delivery.
• Assessment design and feedback provision.
• Use of adaptive teaching methods for varied learning needs.
