Executive Officer – School of Social Policy

About the role
The Executive Officer provides high‑level administrative support to the Head of School and senior management team within the School of Social Policy and Society. This fixed‑term position is based on the Edgbaston campus and contributes to the smooth operation of the school’s academic and research activities.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate complex administrative processes, including budgeting, procurement and reporting.
- Organise meetings, events and travel arrangements for senior staff.
- Manage correspondence, documentation and record‑keeping in line with university policies.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development activities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and governance standards.
- Prepare and disseminate internal and external communications.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in higher‑education administration or a comparable environment.
- Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a senior team.
- Knowledge of university policies, procedures and governance.
