External Communications Lead (12-month Fixed Term)

About the role

Join JERA Nex bp, a 50:50 joint venture focused on unlocking offshore wind value, as the External Communications Lead on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will shape how the company presents itself externally, protect its reputation and ensure communications align with strategic and commercial priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Drive JERA Nex bp’s external communications programme, aligning activity with business priorities and protecting reputation.
• Lead corporate media relations, manage press releases, statements and Q&As, and advise senior leaders on communications opportunities and risks.
• Shape corporate narrative, oversee project communications for Oriel and Morven, and develop executive profiling and event participation.
• Own strategy for the corporate website and LinkedIn, ensuring brand consistency across digital channels.

Required profile

• 6–8 years’ experience in external communications, corporate affairs or media relations, preferably in‑house.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver communications strategies that support business goals and protect reputation.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with experience advising senior leaders on high‑profile communications.
• Strong media relations, stakeholder management and the capacity to manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑moving environment.
