Family Solicitor – Care Proceedings (Bristol)

About the role

The Legists is seeking a Family Solicitor with a focus on care proceedings to join its specialist family law team in Bristol. This permanent, full‑time position offers hybrid working and the chance to represent vulnerable parents in publicly funded cases.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of publicly funded family matters, primarily on behalf of parents.
• Handle care proceedings, public law outline (PLO) matters, pre‑proceedings work and non‑accidental injury cases.
• Provide advice and representation in child protection and local authority intervention applications.
• Collaborate with senior family law specialists and advocates to deliver high‑quality legal services.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in family law.
• Demonstrated experience with publicly funded family law matters and care proceedings.
• Strong knowledge of public children law and local authority processes.
• Excellent client care, communication and independent case management skills.
• Commitment to supporting vulnerable clients; Children Panel membership is a plus.
