Field Service Engineer – Laser & Machine Tools (Midlands)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer to join a leading laser cutting and machine‑tool company. Based in the Midlands, you will travel across the UK delivering installation, commissioning, maintenance and breakdown support for advanced CNC and laser equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to service and emergency calls throughout the UK.
• Install, commission, service and repair CNC machine tools and laser cutting systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and control‑system faults.
• Provide technical advice and application support to customers.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and complete accurate service documentation.
• Report to the Service Manager and attend ongoing product training.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer.
• Hands‑on experience with CNC machine tools, laser cutting machinery or similar industrial equipment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding abilities.
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work independently.
