Field Service Technician

About the role

Join a global organisation as a Field Service Technician, servicing and maintaining world‑class CNC machinery for customers in the Northampton and Milton Keynes area. You will receive full product and technical training, allowing you to develop into the go‑to expert in your region while enjoying a home‑based lifestyle most nights.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC equipment to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults quickly and effectively.
• Replace, adjust and align mechanical components to specification.
• Conduct inspections and complete detailed service reports.
• Provide basic operator guidance after maintenance visits.
• Liaise with the technical support team for additional expertise.
• Maintain tools, equipment and service vehicle to a high standard.
• Travel to customer sites within the local patch with minimal overnight stays.
• Build product knowledge through ongoing training and development.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background, preferably in maintenance or service roles.
• Hands‑on experience with machinery or lathes; CNC experience beneficial but not essential.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and capacity to work independently.
• Comfortable travelling within a local patch and interacting with customers on‑site.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Professional communication skills and a genuine desire to learn and grow.

What we offer

• Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience, OTE around £37,000 with bonuses.
• Monday‑Friday, 39‑hour work week.
