Finance Business Partner – Liverpool

About the role

Sellick Partnership are seeking an experienced and commercially‑minded Finance Business Partner to join one of our not‑for‑profit clients based in Liverpool. This key position provides financial support, challenge and insight to operational and corporate teams, helping to drive performance and value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operational and service managers to support budget setting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Provide insightful financial information and recommendations to support decision‑making.
• Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and value for money.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets, business plans and reports for Executive, Committee and Board meetings.
• Assist with year‑end processes, external audit requirements and continuous improvement of financial controls.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in finance business partnering or management accounting, including budgeting, forecasting and management accounts.
• Proven ability to analyse complex financial information and present clear recommendations.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder‑management skills, with experience working with non‑financial managers and senior leaders.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency with financial systems (e.g., ERP or budgeting software).
