Finance Business Partner – Operations (North Birmingham)

About the role

This is a hybrid, full‑time position supporting a fast‑paced manufacturing business in North Birmingham. You will work closely with senior operational leaders, providing financial insight and influencing key decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce weekly and monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis.
• Partner with operational leaders, acting as their trusted finance contact and challenging performance where needed.
• Own product and process costings, ensuring accuracy and driving improvements.
• Take ownership of the budget and rolling forecast process, collaborating with operations to build realistic numbers.
• Monitor and report on key operational KPIs, flagging trends and risks early.
• Track and report on waste, identifying reduction opportunities with operational teams.
• Support ad‑hoc analysis and projects for the operations and finance leadership team.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA); if part‑qualified, at least 3 + years in an analytical role.
• Confident in business partnering with non‑finance stakeholders and able to influence decisions.
• Comfortable owning costing and forecasting processes independently.
• Strong communicator who enjoys working close to the operational side of the business.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
