Finance Director

About the role

The Finance Director will join the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO, and will be responsible for shaping the financial strategy of a high‑performing business. This role offers a strategic platform to drive financial performance, support growth and influence the future direction of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing finance team, ensuring best‑in‑class reporting, controls and processes.
• Deliver a clear financial strategy to support sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial risk across the business.
• Ensure robust governance, compliance and internal control frameworks.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to drive profitability and performance.
• Support key commercial decisions, including bids, contract negotiations and investment appraisal.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA essential).
• Proven experience as a Finance Director or equivalent senior finance role.
• Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to influence and challenge at board level.
• Experience operating within a business of comparable scale.
• Collaborative leadership style focused on developing high‑performing teams.
• Proactive, strategic mindset underpinned by strong attention to detail.
