Finance Transformation Subject Matter Expert – Transactional Services (SAP S/4HANA)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Transformation Subject Matter Expert to join a major finance transformation programme focused on implementing SAP S/4HANA. Working within the Transactional Services workstream, you will redesign and improve core finance processes such as Order to Cash, Accounts Payable, billing and credit control.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for Order to Cash and Accounts Payable throughout the SAP S/4HANA transformation.
• Partner with finance stakeholders, IT teams and SAP consultants to understand current processes and design future solutions.
• Provide expertise across billing, collections, credit control and transactional finance operations.
• Translate finance requirements into functional specifications for SAP S/4HANA.
• Support design, testing (SIT, UAT) and implementation of new finance processes.
• Assist data migration activities, including cleansing, mapping and validation.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and ways of working.
• Support change management, training and user adoption.
• Help with go‑live preparation, cut‑over planning and post‑implementation improvements.

Required profile

• Experience working with SAP, preferably in finance modules.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end Order to Cash, Accounts Payable, billing or credit control processes.
• Proven experience improving finance processes or supporting transformation projects.
• Ability to work with both finance stakeholders and technical teams.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
