Financial Controller

About the role

Rutherford Briant is exclusively recruiting a Financial Controller for a successful, PE‑backed specialist services business entering an exciting new stage of its development. This role offers the chance to work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, taking ownership of the day‑to‑day finance function while supporting the company’s growth and acquisition strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Own the day‑to‑day finance function, ensuring accurate reporting and cash‑flow management.
• Strengthen financial controls, reporting, systems and processes across the growing group.
• Lead integration of future acquisitions, aligning finance operations and data.
• Provide insight and analysis to support confident commercial decision‑making.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or strong qualified‑by‑experience candidate.
• Proven experience managing a busy finance function.
• Strong across management reporting, cash flow, controls and statutory requirements.
• Commercially aware and confident working with operational leaders.
• Able to balance hands‑on delivery with longer‑term finance development.
