Graduate/Trainee Landscaper

About the role

Start your career in ecological and sustainable landscaping with Ecosulis, supporting nature‑recovery and habitat‑creation projects across wetlands, meadows and woodlands. You will develop practical skills in land management and ecological restoration while following a personalised Personal Development Plan for progression into a Landscaper role.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with planting, seeding and establishing native habitats such as wildflower meadows, scrubland and wetlands.
• Support safe removal of invasive plant species and promote biodiversity.
• Help build and maintain habitat structures like ponds, hibernacula and wildlife corridors.
• Monitor plant and soil health and collect data on restored sites.
• Gain qualifications and experience using landscaping tools and machinery, including brushcutters and strimmers.
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance under guidance.
• Prepare sites by removing turf, installing fencing and applying mulch.
• Maintain clean, organised and safe working areas throughout projects.
• Collaborate with ecologists, contractors and project managers to ensure effective delivery.
• Travel to remote and rural sites, staying overnight when required.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Genuine passion for ecological restoration and commitment to sustainability.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Required skills

• CSCS (CITB and ROLO) certification.
• HAVS awareness.
• Manual handling competence.
• Spills management knowledge.
• COSHH awareness.
• Waste management and environmental awareness.
• Asbestos awareness.
• Brushcutter/strimmer operation.
• First aid certification.
• Basic forestry knowledge.
