Group Accountant – International Finance Role

About the role

This position offers a qualified accountant the chance to join a growing international business, working closely with the Financial Controller. You will be involved in group reporting, budgeting, statutory reporting and finance transformation across multiple European entities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with month‑end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial reports for European entities.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and review journal entries.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis activities.
• Prepare VAT returns (monthly, bi‑monthly, quarterly) for various legal entities.
• Assist with year‑end audit, statutory reporting, corporation tax and group consolidation.
• Perform local GAAP to UK GAAP reconciliations when required.
• Liaise with external auditors and advisors across jurisdictions.
• Contribute to process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
• Support board and group‑level reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with approximately 3+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to work across teams and stakeholders.
• Proactive, collaborative attitude with capacity to mentor junior staff.
