Head of Banking & Finance Solicitor – Birmingham

About the role

This senior position leads the Banking & Finance practice for a nationally recognised law firm in Birmingham. You will head a busy team, advising banks, lenders and corporate borrowers on a wide range of financing transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Birmingham banking practice, managing a team of solicitors and associates.
• Advise on secured and unsecured lending, acquisition finance, real estate and development finance, refinancing and asset‑based lending.
• Collaborate with corporate, real estate, restructuring and insolvency teams on complex, high‑value transactions.
• Drive business development, nurture client relationships and generate new work.
• Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the firm’s national banking strategy.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with extensive experience in banking and finance law, preferably at a partner or legal director level.
• Proven track record of leading teams and developing client relationships in the Midlands.
• Strong commercial awareness and an established network within the regional market.
