Head of Category – Bespoke & Commodity (Hybrid, Manchester)

About the role

The Head of Category joins the Procurement Management team of a FTSE100 retail supplier. Reporting to the Procurement and Sustainability Director, you will shape strategy and drive commercial improvement across bespoke and commodity categories.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Category Team within Procurement, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative culture.
• Deliver product cost reductions, working‑capital improvements and meet savings targets, including EPR compliance.
• Collaborate with the Head of Strategic Sourcing to capture global sourcing opportunities.
• Work with Commercial Finance to develop the central earnings pipeline.
• Partner with Sustainability and Technical teams to ensure ethical and environmental sourcing standards.
• Drive growth, innovation and market‑leading expertise in assigned categories.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in category management, preferably within retail procurement.
• Strong leadership and people‑development capabilities.
• Ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders and drive cultural change.
• Commercial acumen with a focus on cost optimisation and savings delivery.
