Head of Demand Planning

About the role

Butler Rose, a manufacturing business based in Burnley, is seeking an experienced Head of Demand Planning to lead its global forecasting function. This senior leadership position will shape demand planning strategy, improve processes and ensure alignment with commercial and operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly demand planning cycle and drive a collaborative planning process across the business.
• Establish consistent forecasting standards and align commercial, finance and supply‑chain teams.
• Develop and implement a global demand forecasting strategy supporting business objectives.
• Evaluate, recommend and deploy demand‑planning technologies to enhance forecasting capability.
• Ensure planning data is accurate, well‑governed and supports decision‑making.
• Lead, develop and coach the demand planning team, setting clear objectives and performance measures.
• Build strong relationships with Sales, Finance, Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain.
• Provide expert guidance on market trends, demand changes and planning assumptions.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes, introduce best‑practice methodologies and improve forecast accuracy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior demand planning or forecasting role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across commercial, finance and supply‑chain functions.
• Track record of implementing global forecasting strategies and improving forecast accuracy.
