Head of Finance – Strategic Leadership Role

About the role

MERJE Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Head of Finance to lead the financial function of a fast‑growing fintech operating in a regulated environment. Reporting to the CEO and senior management, you will sit at board level and provide strategic financial insight while ensuring compliance with FCA requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling for investment decisions.
• Prepare accurate management accounts, board reports and regulatory submissions.
• Oversee liquidity management, cash‑flow forecasting and treasury policies.
• Maintain internal controls, risk management frameworks and governance standards.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure FCA reporting compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.
• Provide leadership, coaching and development for the finance team.
• Collaborate with operations, IT and audit functions to safeguard assets.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with senior finance experience in a Financial Services or FCA‑regulated organisation.
• Proven ability to operate at board level and influence strategic decisions.
• Strong track record of managing regulatory compliance and risk.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
