Head of PR and Communications

About the role

The Overlap is a fast‑growing sports media brand with millions of monthly viewers across YouTube and other platforms. We are looking for a senior PR and Communications leader to shape our brand narrative, drive media coverage for flagship launches, and turn visibility into commercial impact.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with our appointed agency and global teams to define and execute PR & communications strategy throughout the year.
• Lead launch and campaign PR for major network moments, managing announcements, embargoes, talent interviews and post‑launch momentum.
• Run an always‑on press office: draft releases, pitch stories, news‑jacking opportunities and amplify show clips across sports, entertainment and trade outlets.
• Manage reputation and stakeholder relationships, coordinating approvals with talent representatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Own industry positioning, awards strategy, speaking opportunities and trade‑show presence.

Required profile

• 6+ years of PR experience, preferably in sport, entertainment, media or talent‑led brands.
• Strong network and credibility within the UK media landscape, especially sports and entertainment press.
• Excellent storytelling and pitching ability, with proven copy‑writing skills for press releases, briefings and Q&As.
• Demonstrated experience planning and delivering launch campaigns and maintaining a continuous press rhythm.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and high‑profile talent, balancing commercial, editorial and reputational considerations.
• Sound judgement and resilience in fast‑moving environments.
