Health & Safety Advisor

About the role

We are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support a growing manufacturing business in the healthcare sector based in St Albans. The successful candidate will work hands‑on to audit facilities, close compliance gaps and ensure the organisation is ready for HSE inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and embed sustainable health & safety frameworks across laboratories, production, warehouse and office areas.
• Lead a three‑month contract to achieve full compliance with UK HSE regulations and bring the site to inspection‑ready status.
• Conduct detailed audits, identify risks and implement corrective actions for policies, SOPs, risk assessments and COSHH documentation.
• Standardise and maintain documentation, training records and waste‑management procedures.
• Deliver health & safety awareness training and verify the effectiveness of PPE, fire safety, first‑aid and other control measures.
• Support the H&S representative and HSE committee, providing regular progress updates to senior leadership.
