Homeless Service Manager – Birmingham

About the role

Our client, a well‑established housing and support provider, is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead a dispersed homelessness accommodation service across Birmingham. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day operations, ensuring safe, high‑quality accommodation and person‑centred support for vulnerable adults.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of 12‑17 staff across multiple sites, delivering support to residents with complex needs.
• Oversee service performance, housing management, safeguarding, compliance and quality assurance.
• Maintain strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, community safety teams and partner agencies.
• Handle referrals, move‑ons, voids, risk management and service audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and staff development.

Required profile

• Previous experience managing homelessness, supported housing or related services.
• Proven ability to lead, supervise and develop teams.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk, ASB management and trauma‑informed practice.
• Experience working with vulnerable adults with mental health, substance misuse or offending histories.
• Excellent partnership‑building skills with local authorities, health and social care services.
• Organisational ability to manage multiple priorities across several sites.
• Knowledge of housing management, compliance, health and safety and service quality standards.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
