Hospital Housekeeper – Cross‑Site Role

About the role

This full‑time Housekeeper position works across CRF Wythenshawe and North Manchester General Hospital, supporting ward managers, nurses and domestic staff to maintain a safe, clean and organised clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all medical equipment and ensure it is ready for use.
• Maintain safe stock levels on wards, order and provide food and drink where required.
• Assist with the patient experience tracker and collect feedback via the Friends and Family Test.
• Support continuous quality‑improvement activities and update the environmental database.
• Carry out catering duties, general cleaning, store management, minor equipment maintenance and restocking.
• Liaise with contractors and support services, monitor quality standards, report deficiencies and take corrective action.
• Ensure the ward environment respects patient privacy and dignity.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a second housekeeper.
• Team‑oriented with strong communication skills.
• Capable of planning, prioritising workload and coping under pressure.
• Willingness to work under indirect supervision and follow shift‑leader directions.
