Housing Disrepair Solicitor – Manchester

About the role

This position offers a unique chance to join a brand‑new legal practice in central Manchester, focusing on housing disrepair and related property disputes. Key responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of housing disrepair matters from instruction through to trial or settlement.
• Draft letters of claim, pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and other court documents.
• Liaise with surveyors, environmental health officers and medical experts to gather evidence and quantify damages.
• Negotiate settlements with landlords, housing associations and their representatives.
• Attend case management hearings and prepare trial bundles as required.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year post‑qualification experience (PQE) in housing disrepair or comparable contentious civil litigation.
• Familiarity with the Housing Conditions Pre‑Action Protocol and the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Strong organisational abilities, attention to detail and the capacity to meet competing deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with case management systems such as Proclaim or similar platforms.
