HR Advisor – 12‑Month Contract (Barrow‑in‑Furness)

About the role

The HR Advisor will join the People Services team on a 12‑month contract, supporting a manufacturing, unionised, project‑based organisation in Barrow‑in‑Furness. You will act as a trusted point of contact for employees and line managers, helping to translate business needs into effective HR solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day advice and resolve employee queries across a range of HR topics.
• Support the implementation of HR policies, frameworks and governance in line with business requirements.
• Collaborate with Centres of Excellence and HR tools such as SuccessFactors to drive engagement and data‑driven decisions.
• Monitor key HR metrics, input data into HR information systems and produce regular reports.
• Assist senior HR leads or partners with strategic initiatives and change programmes.

Required profile

• Experience working in a manufacturing or similarly structured environment.
• Strong understanding of HR processes, employment legislation and union dynamics.
• Ability to build relationships with internal customers and influence stakeholders.
• Proactive, reliable and capable of handling confidential information.

Required skills

• SuccessFactors (HRIS) – practical experience using the platform.

• Competitive rate of £31.93 per hour gross on an umbrella arrangement or £23.81 per hour PAYE (inside IR35).
