HR Advisor – 4 Month Contract in Cambridge

About the role

This is a 4‑month, full‑time contract (37 hours per week) for an HR Advisor based on site in Cambridge. You will provide hands‑on HR support to operational leaders within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance and best practice across employee‑relations matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support formal consultation processes, including redundancy programmes.
• Manage complex absence cases and oversee disciplinary and grievance procedures from start to finish.
• Advise managers on policy application, employee‑relations issues and UK employment law.
• Support organisational change initiatives within an operational setting.
• Promote positive employee engagement and a strong workplace culture.

Required profile

• Proven HR experience in manufacturing, engineering or a similar operational environment.
• Strong background in consultation and redundancy processes (essential).
• Demonstrable experience handling disciplinary, grievance and absence cases.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑moving setting and liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
