HR Director – Senior Leadership Role

About the role

This leading multi‑site £100m+ construction business is seeking an experienced, commercially minded Human Resources Director to join its senior leadership team. Based in London with hybrid working, the role will shape and deliver the people strategy to support ambitious growth and a high‑performing workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver HR strategies aligned with business objectives as part of the senior leadership team.
• Design and manage compensation structures, benefits and reward strategies, ensuring market competitiveness.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, talent acquisition, succession planning and retention strategies.
• Drive change management initiatives to boost employee engagement, performance and organisational development.
• Create training, leadership development and career progression programmes while promoting continuous learning.
• Manage risk and ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies and HR best practice.
• Advance HR systems and technology, using people data and analytics to support business decisions.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations, grievances and conflict resolution to foster an inclusive culture.
• Build, lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing HR team to deliver first‑class service.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR experience in a multi‑site, people‑focused business, preferably in logistics, transport, manufacturing or construction.
• Track record of success in HR with strong knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Ability to communicate credibly at the highest levels of a large organisation.
• Commercially minded with the capacity to align HR initiatives with business goals.
