Immigration Director – Level 2 Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Immigration Level 2 Solicitor to join a top‑tier law firm as Immigration Director. The role involves leading the immigration department, supervising a team of solicitors and caseworkers, and delivering high‑quality legal services to high‑net‑worth individuals and complex corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Board and ensure performance targets are met.
• Oversee all aspects of immigration work, providing technical expertise and guidance.
• Manage and supervise solicitors, trainee solicitors and caseworkers, allocating appropriate caseloads.
• Deliver training and development programmes within the department.
• Handle a wide range of immigration matters, including detained clients, victims of trafficking and torture, asylum applications, entry clearance, appeals and judicial reviews.
• Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency.
• Draft legal documents such as witness statements and process evidential material.
• Prepare applications to meet Home Office requirements, including forms, indexes and cover letters.

Required profile

• Level 2 Accredited Solicitor with Director‑level experience.
• Extensive experience in immigration law, including high‑net‑worth, Tier 1 visas, asylum and human‑rights cases.
• Proven ability to supervise and develop solicitors, trainees and caseworkers.
• Experience handling complex appeals up to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
