Industrial Disease Solicitor – Manchester

About the role

Our client, a leading national law firm, is expanding its specialist claimant personal injury practice. They are seeking an Industrial Disease Solicitor (NQ‑5 PQE) to join a well‑established asbestos and occupational disease team in Manchester. The role offers a collaborative environment with strong support for career development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of asbestos and occupational disease claims from inception to resolution.
• Handle matters such as mesothelioma, asbestos‑related lung cancer, asbestosis, occupational asthma, silicosis and other workplace illnesses.
• Run litigated matters independently under appropriate supervision.
• Assist partners and senior solicitors on complex, high‑value claims.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements and schedules of loss.
• Liaise with clients, medical experts, counsel and other stakeholders.
• Conduct legal research and prepare detailed advice.
• Build and maintain strong client and referrer relationships.
• Contribute to business development and networking activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 0‑5 years PQE.
• Previous experience in industrial disease, asbestos litigation or claimant personal injury.
• Ability to manage litigated cases with increasing autonomy.
• Strong drafting, analytical and legal research abilities.
• Excellent communication and client‑care skills.
• Compassionate approach to vulnerable clients and families.
• Enthusiasm for industrial disease work and commitment to client outcomes.
• Proactive, commercially aware mindset with interest in business development.
