Industrial Disease Solicitor/Associate (1-5 PQE)

About the role

Join an award‑winning, Legal 500‑recognised law firm in Manchester as an Industrial Disease Solicitor or Associate. You will work within a growing defendant insurance team, handling a diverse portfolio of industrial disease claims for insurer and corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of litigated and pre‑litigated industrial disease claims, including NIHL, HAVS, asbestos‑related diseases, occupational asthma, dermatitis, and work‑related stress.
• Provide strategic legal advice, draft pleadings and other documentation, and oversee matters from inception to resolution.
• Attend court and tribunal hearings, undertaking advocacy where required.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX).
• 1‑5 years post‑qualification experience handling defendant industrial disease claims.
• Proven ability to manage a personal caseload and meet deadlines.
• Experience attending court or tribunal hearings; advocacy experience is a plus.
• Excellent client communication, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach to case management.
