Integrated Commissioning Manager

About the role

The Integrated Commissioning Manager will develop strategic priorities and lead the design and commissioning of population or local authority services, aiming to improve quality, value for money and align with national and local priorities. The role also ensures complex project plans are delivered on time and within budget while supporting senior leaders across children’s and adult services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic priorities and lead design and commissioning for population or local authority services to improve quality, value for money and reflect national and local priorities.
• Deliver complex project plans, monitor progress, solve problems and resolve issues to keep projects and the wider commissioning programme on track and within budget.
• Work closely with finance, procurement and legal officers to ensure procurement processes are timely, competitive, transparent and equitable.
• Support senior leaders in Children’s and Adults Services to achieve value for money from third‑party spend when commissioning for the Local Authority and collaborate across boroughs and the ICB on joint contracts.
• Lead specific commissioning projects that shape and influence the provider market, developing market management and development strategies to deliver greater choice and control for service users.
• Chair inter‑agency or multi‑disciplinary meetings, workshops, consultation events, information events, forums and steering groups as required.
• Maintain expert knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and government policy to support effective collaboration with service managers.
• Work with strategy, performance and public health leads to contribute to the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
• Represent departmental commissioning at cross‑agency strategy, planning and development meetings and contribute to new inter‑agency initiatives across Southwark.
• Carry out duties in accordance with the Council’s Health and Safety Policy and promote equalities through Council employment practices.
