Interim Finance Manager – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

We are supporting a fast‑growing technology business in the digital sector that needs an experienced Finance Manager for a 12‑month maternity cover. Working closely with the CFO, you will own the day‑to‑day finance function across UK and international entities, delivering month‑end reporting, cash‑flow management and commercial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close, producing accurate management accounts and variance analysis.
• Manage all transactional finance activities – journals, accruals, pre‑payments, deferred revenue, fixed assets and inter‑company transactions.
• Maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations and embed strong financial controls.
• Prepare VAT returns, support tax compliance, R&D claims and statutory filings.
• Own the rolling cash‑flow forecast, monitor working capital and provide cash performance insights.
• Partner with department heads on budgeting, expenditure review and commercial performance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll operations.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Financial Controller role within a small or growing business.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver month‑end reporting independently.
• Comfortable working autonomously and thriving in a high‑performing, small finance team.
