Interim IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager to lead the delivery and support of critical IT services for a South West London local authority. This hybrid role requires three days onsite per week and offers a dynamic environment where you will manage multidisciplinary technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multi‑disciplinary IT Operations team covering infrastructure, networks, end‑user computing and telephony.
• Ensure availability, performance and security of critical IT services.
• Manage and support cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.
• Oversee infrastructure technologies such as Windows 11, firewalls, DNS, networking and Microsoft Teams telephony.
• Drive service improvements and implement operational best practices.
• Monitor service performance, incident and problem management.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align IT services with business objectives.
• Manage third‑party suppliers and ensure compliance with security and governance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and operations teams.
• Strong technical background across cloud, networking and end‑user computing.
• Experience supporting Azure and AWS environments.
• Knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Teams Telephony, DNS and firewall technologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced operational environment.

What we offer

• £550 per day rate on an Umbrella contract.
