IT System Technologist

About the role

This is a chance to join a growing UK transport business that is investing heavily in its IT function after a recent acquisition. Reporting to the Head of IT, you will help shape and modernise the Microsoft, cloud and infrastructure estate while delivering projects that boost resilience, security and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server environments.
• Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure to ensure seamless integration.
• Monitor the IT estate, proactively identify issues and resolve technical incidents.
• Implement system and security policies to keep infrastructure secure and high‑performing.
• Deliver infrastructure and systems projects alongside the Head of IT.
• Work with third‑party suppliers to resolve issues and improve services.
• Research and introduce new technologies that enhance operational efficiency and security.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and ensure compliance with IT standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Well‑rounded infrastructure professional comfortable working across a broad technology estate.
• Proven ability to take ownership of technical challenges and deliver reliable, secure IT services.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse business teams.
