Laboratory Technician

About the role

Talent STEM Ltd is recruiting a Laboratory Technician for a 12‑month temporary contract with an established chemical manufacturing organisation in the Sunderland/County Durham area. This hands‑on role supports testing and analysis of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods in a busy laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine laboratory testing of raw materials, intermediate products and finished goods.
• Undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis using a range of laboratory techniques.
• Analyse process and environmental samples, including pH, Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) testing.
• Support testing and validation activities for new plant equipment and technical projects.
• Accurately record, interpret and communicate analytical results.
• Maintain high standards of laboratory documentation, housekeeping and health and safety.

Required profile

• A degree in Chemistry or another relevant scientific subject.
• Previous practical laboratory experience, preferably in chemistry, analytical, quality control, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical, environmental or materials laboratories.
