Lead AI Labs Software Engineer – Python, AI & Cloud (London)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead AI Labs Software Engineer to head the development of Agentic AI solutions for a finance client in London. You will work closely with a manager and senior engineers, driving projects from concept through production while collaborating with business stakeholders across investment, sales and marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the AI labs team, overseeing delivery of Agentic AI solutions on a 3‑month cycle.
• Design and architect end‑to‑end AI systems using Python and cloud technologies.
• Collaborate with business units to translate requirements into AI‑driven products.
• Mentor senior engineers and support team expansion plans.
• Showcase solutions to client organisations and explore partnership opportunities.
• Hand over production‑ready solutions to departmental tech teams.

Required profile

• Advanced experience as a Python software engineer/developer.
• Proven leadership delivering projects from inception to production.
• Strong interpersonal and design/architecture capabilities.
• Ability to work with finance‑related business stakeholders (finance experience not mandatory).
