Lead AI Labs Software Engineer – Python (Finance) – London

About the role

We are seeking a Lead AI Labs Software Engineer to head the development of Agentic AI solutions for a finance client in London. You will lead a small team, collaborate with business stakeholders, and deliver end‑to‑end AI projects that support investment, sales and marketing functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the AI labs team, coordinating with a manager and senior engineers to design and deliver AI solutions.
• Translate business requirements from investment, sales and marketing departments into Agentic AI prototypes.
• Manage the full project lifecycle, from inception through production and hand‑over to departmental tech teams.
• Showcase solutions to external clients and explore partnership opportunities.
• Ensure solutions are built on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.

Required profile

• Advanced experience as a Python Software Engineer with strong design and architecture skills.
• Proven leadership experience delivering projects from concept to production.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying Agentic AI solutions.

What we offer

• Salary range £120,000 – £150,000 per year.
• Performance bonus of up to 25%.
