Learning Support Assistant – Secondary Schools (Hackney, East London)

About the role
The Learning Support Assistant will work within secondary schools in Hackney, East London, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils aged 11‑16. You will help students achieve their full potential in a caring, inclusive environment that values emotional wellbeing and personal growth.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small‑group assistance to Year 7‑11 pupils.
- Assist class teachers in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Support children with additional needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals.
Required profile
- Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to obtain or hold a valid DBS check on the update service.
