Learning Support Assistant – Special School

About the role
The school is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist setting, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with special educational needs. You will join a supportive team in a well‑equipped special school in South Birmingham.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1‑2‑1 and small‑group assistance to pupils with SEND.
- Support learning, communication and social development.
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Contribute to a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs.
- Ideally holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant / LSA qualification.
- Patient, proactive and passionate about helping young people succeed.
