About the role
The Legists are seeking a Litigation Barrister to join their team in Greater Manchester. You will work on high‑profile public‑sector matters, advising ministers and senior officials while managing a diverse litigation caseload.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and guidance to government departments on litigation and regulatory issues.
- Represent clients in court, tribunals and other dispute resolution forums.
- Draft pleadings, opinions, and other legal documents.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals across advisory, commercial and employment law areas.
- Maintain a robust caseload and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality legal services.
Required profile
- A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
- Strategic and creative thinking with strong analytical judgement.
- Ability to work collaboratively at pace and communicate complex issues clearly.
- Open‑minded, impartial and comfortable handling high‑visibility work.
Required skills
- Experience in litigation, advisory, commercial and employment law.
- Knowledge of EU legislation and public‑sector legal frameworks.
- Risk‑based advice and persuasive advocacy.
