Maintenance Engineer – Multi‑Skilled Shift Role

About the role

We are looking for a multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the reliability maintenance engineering team at Nestlé Purina in Wisbech. The role operates on a 4‑days‑on, 4‑days‑off shift pattern, covering both day and night shifts, and focuses on keeping plant equipment running at peak performance while supporting a safe and high‑quality manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the condition of machinery on your production line, including routine maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Promote a strong safety culture by identifying and eliminating workplace hazards.
• Ensure products are manufactured to the required quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational processes.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Working Groups and Autonomous Working Groups using tools such as inspections, abnormality identification, breakdown analysis, and preventive/predictive maintenance.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship‑level NVQ 3 or recognised qualification in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and experience with lean manufacturing tools.
• Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance practices.
• Proficiency in root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving methodologies.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and safety compliance standards.
