Management Accountant – Birmingham (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join a reputable manufacturing company in Birmingham. The role focuses on delivering accurate monthly group reporting and maintaining strong financial controls across the business while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly group reports, consolidated profit & loss and balance sheet.
• Reconcile inter‑company and control accounts.
• Manage month‑end accruals and overhead reviews.
• Produce departmental management accounts and daily sales reports.
• Support budgeting, liaise with auditors and handle government/statistical reporting.
• Prepare VAT returns, payroll journals and maintain the fixed asset register.
• Authorise internet banking transactions.
• Support and develop junior team members.
• Complete ad‑hoc finance tasks as required.

Required profile

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Well‑organised with good time‑management capabilities.
• Confident IT user with strong spreadsheet proficiency.

• Hybrid working – three days onsite, one day remote.
