Managing Director – Commercial Insurance Growth

About the role

We are seeking an experienced commercial insurance leader to drive growth across the North of England and Scotland. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape regional strategy, coach high‑performing Account Executives and influence the wider commercial direction of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the new‑business strategy for the North and Scotland, travelling to regional offices as required.
• Support and develop Account Executives to maximise new‑business performance.
• Coach teams on sales strategy, prospecting, relationship development and handling complex opportunities.
• Share practical commercial insight gained from your own successful insurance career.
• Identify regional growth opportunities and help shape the business‑development plan.
• Build a high‑performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability and sustainable growth.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to influence the overall commercial direction.

Required profile

• Proven senior leader in the UK commercial insurance broking market.
• Track record of personally winning significant commercial insurance clients before moving into leadership.
• Experience coaching and developing sales teams.
• Current or previous role as Managing Director, Commercial Director, Sales Director, Head of Sales or similar.
