MEP BIM Engineer

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK and Ireland building services organisation that delivers innovative, sustainable energy solutions. Based in Birmingham, the MEP BIM Engineer will be central to creating, coordinating and optimising mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) models that support both on‑site construction and off‑site prefabrication.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain fully coordinated MEP BIM models using Revit.
• Collaborate with design engineers to translate schematics into detailed 3D models.
• Support clash detection and coordination activities using Navisworks.
• Participate in model coordination workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage information within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
• Produce construction and installation drawings directly from BIM models.
• Work with off‑site manufacturing teams to create fabrication‑ready models.
• Validate installations on site against BIM models and generate as‑built models for handover.
• Use BIM data to support sustainability initiatives such as embodied carbon tracking and energy performance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with BIM standards, protocols and company procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in MEP BIM modelling for building services projects.
• Strong understanding of BIM coordination processes and standards.
• Ability to work closely with design engineers, project teams and off‑site fabrication specialists.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, compliant models throughout the project lifecycle.
