Merchandiser – Activewear Category – Manchester

About the role

We are partnering with a high‑growth activewear brand to find a Merchandiser who will own a dedicated product category. You will work closely with the Buying team to drive sales, maximise profit and ensure the right product is available at the right time in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Weekly Sales and Stock Index (WSSI) and ensure accurate forecasting and in‑season management.
• Manage Open‑to‑Buy (OTB) to optimise stock investment and availability.
• Analyse sales, stock and margin performance to make daily and weekly trading decisions.
• Identify commercial opportunities and risks, implementing actions to boost sales and profitability.
• Collaborate with Buyers to build commercially successful ranges.
• Oversee stock flow, allocations and availability across all channels.
• Produce insightful reports and present trading recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Coach and develop Assistant Merchandisers and Merchandise Admin Assistants.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Merchandiser within a retail environment.
• Strong trading background with the ability to react quickly to performance data.
• Excellent knowledge of WSSI, Open‑to‑Buy and stock planning processes.
• Analytical mindset with confidence to influence commercial decisions.
• Ability to build strong relationships with Buying and cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive attitude and a genuine desire to improve processes and performance.
